New Z4 owner

Hi all, new to the forum and picked up my first BMW, a 2006 Z4 Coupe today from fellow forum member Tim M.
Really really pleased with the car and although just over 100k I can tell it’s been well looked after! Tim, I had a great drive back from up north to the West Sussex coast, despite of “Dennis”. Cracking little car.
I should have done this years ago. Just got to sell my 2010 Triumph Speed Triple with mega low miles now, if anyone’s interested.

Welcome to Z ownership and the forum. It’s a lovely looking car and colour combo is great imo. You’ve done the photo police out of a job with the photo as well, well done.

Good choice, the Triumph speedtriple is a fantastic bike to ride & even more exciting than the car! 8)

Yes I love my Speed Triple to bits, but it’s got to go to fund the Zed unfortunately.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Just got to decide now at 112k whether or not to change the gearbox and rear diff oil.....a controversial topic I know.
 
I had the gearbox oil changed on my last 3.0Si shortly after 80K miles and the shift quality definitely felt better afterwards, but as I fitted a ZHP gear-knob at the same time that might have been a major factor as well. Either way I couldn't see why new oil wouldn't be a good idea!

My Indy told me the diff doesn't have a drain plug, so that got left alone. If the diff had died that would have given me a good excuse to get a Quaife LSD. :lol:

My bet is the knob made the change feel better more than the oil did.
Changed oil after around 110k and it didnt look too bad,
Couldnt feel much difference.then fitted a stormworks ,thats when i felt a change

Yes mine has got a handmade knob on it which feels great, just wonder if it’s best practice to replace the oils after all those miles.

Whereabouts in West Sussex are you? I was brought up in Littlehampton, until the RAF forced me to migrate to Norfolk.
My old man still lives in Rustington, so I get down that way occasionally.

Ha ha! I used to live in Horsham Road, right near the cemetery.
Father now lives on Southway, just behind Mewsbrook Park.
