New Z4 owner from Manchester

Well it's been an interesting road, but finally picked up my Z4, a 2007 e85 2.5si.
Half way back to Manchester and the familiar thud thud thud of a flat rear tyre (plus the fact the RFTs had been ditched by a previous owner) meant it arrived home on the back of a recovery truck :|

Anyway, back on the road and enjoying being back in a proper sports car.

Welcome to Z4 ownership and the forum. Sweet engine in these cars and the interior does indeed look special.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

That's a fantastic colour combination too!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

The interior combination is a bit special and was one of the big factors in me going for that particular car (although I'd already massively narrowed down the choice by insisting on the passanger airbag deactivation option). I've been looking for a while and it's the only one I've seen with that deep red colour.

I'm not surprised - that colour was only available as a "BMW Individual" option.

And I don't think too many had the airbag deactivation option either, so you've found quite a rare one.

Wow, didn't realise the colour was quite so rare.
Doing some research it looks like the original owner wasn't shy when it came to the options list.

Trying to find one I became an expert on the Airbag Deactivation history for the E85 (plus the 986 Porsche Boxster & 916 Alfa GTV/Spider), which is a pretty niche subject :)
On the E85 they were standard in the states but a rarely specced option in the UK (& Europe). They did become standard in late 2007 manufactured cars, so mine could have been fitted as standard or an option.

Sounds like a NW manc meet is in order

I’m between Eccles and Monton and there is another Interlargos M in Eccles too šŸ‘šŸ»
