New Z4 owner and not sure where to start

Cruise control would be useful! Far more useful than the "change mode" button on the steering wheel lol. Pesky average speed cameras!

I'll be looking at what can be done, but I'll need to get some cash together first. And I kind of want to do it myself, seems like more fun.
Well, doing it yourself is what my video is for
Any questions, then don't hesitate to ask :D

I just brought pondrews E89, it’s a beautiful car. Ignore the 6 cylinder engines 🤣. They sound great but I can guarantee you higher repair costs and worse mpg.

I have a few of the upgrades already but will definitely be retrofitting Apple car play also. In the meantime, I’ve found that you can connect your phone to the usb socket and play whatever you need through that. The ‘flap’ in front of the gear stick is also pretty good for holding your phone horizontally.

If you do end up getting the drinks holder, I think it’ll be really helpful, but looking at the space between the gear stick and DAB unit, I don’t think many drinks will actually fit without permanently hitting them when switching gears. Could be annoying, I’m just going to buy bottled drinks and stick them in the net behind the seats.

I’ve heard the remap is really helpful for extra power, can get to a good 250hp, but make sure to get a custom tune rather than a ‘plug in’.

I am a newbie also so take my advice with a pinch of salt, welcome 😊.

I think I missed that. Congratulations on buying what I am sure is a great Z4.

Although all of mine have had 6 cylinders for the soundtrack if nothing else, and BMW didn't make 4 cylinder Coupes! But I'm happy to pay to play. :D

Thank you 😊

I’m sure you’re correct, for a summer/fun car the 6 cylinder seems perfect. As a daily driver I think the 4 cylinder is the best choice, though I will also definitely look for a remap!

Right, as a daily driver a 4 cylinder makes much more sense.

I just don't have much sense as my daily driver is also a 6, but being retired I don't do many miles anyway and I've become addicted to petrol straight 6s!

I daily drive my 23i, returning 30mpg, country roads, 36 mile round trip each day. I'm happy with that

I had a 6 cylinder E89 for 8 years, the most reliable, cost effective car I've had. The 23i/30i engines are pretty bomb proof 👍

TBF now I don't work anymore my daily is less of a daily driver, more of a twice a week driver. So I don't commute or drive in traffic because I don't have to. :D

I'm on my fourth BMW with the N52 engine and they have all averaged between 32 and 34mpg.

I’m jealous of that 🤣 my commute is over an hour every day plus some long distance. Did 25k miles last year. I have noticed the ride is significantly more rigid compared to my 3 Series. Have to avoid potholes at all costs lol!

welcome Newbie :)

Thanks Anubized too!

Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get the remap done? I'm based in Chigwell, Essex, UK.
