New Z4 Member

Hi - I’ve recently bought a Z4, 2.5i. Sadly on the day of purchase the roof packed in... typical. I’ve taken her - - she is a she :) to a local garage to be told it’s circa £900 for a new hydrologic pump and emergency release cable :(

I’ve been reading up online for help (as I refuse to give up on my new car already). Any help or advice would be warmly welcomed. Thanks again.

Great to be joining part of the Z4 family.

Ben

Hi and welcome to the forum and Z4 ownership.

There are a few people on here who can revive seemingly dead roof motors for much less than that, and will relocate them to the boot where they stay dry.

If you give an indication of where you are someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

Welcome, don’t let the roof issue put you off the car, there are some good people on the forum who will help. You’ll have fun in the Z I’m sure.

Nice looking Zed, as others suggested there's plenty of people who can sort a roof motor on here  I don't know many Z4R owners who haven't been affected by some sort of roof motor related problem...

First job I needed to do on my last car was sort the roof

It sprang back to life after liberal dousing in WD40

Made a huge difference and once relocated to the boot it’s peace of mind

I just relocated my most recent one to the boot- took about 2 hours once you have a fair idea of what to do

Don't worry it will have been sent. I think it sits there until the other person reads it.
At least you have a very common problem that people on here know how to fix easily

You've made enough posts now to send a Private Message to Number5.
