IMG_0367.jpegPicked up this car on Monday. I traded my 2021 Supra. Interesting comparison. I have to say that the Z4
is a much more refined car with a noticeably better build quality overall. I drove it home on dry but unfortunately salted roads. It was the best day
we have had in NW PA in a month. Got it back to my garage and put it up on my lift. I hosed off the salt underneath and hand cleaned most of the underside. It will sit in my garage until April probably, when the PA weather gets good enough to enjoy it. Actually I enjoy it now ! IMG_0370.jpegIMG_0367.jpegIMG_0370.jpegIMG_0371.jpegIMG_0372.jpeg

Welcome to the forum Michael. It's good to see another Handschalter owner on here.

Given both Supra and G29 are built side by side on the same production line from mostly the same parts bin it’s an interesting observation..

Hello and welcome, congratulations on buying, probably the best zed there is and good luck not driving it, I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't drive it for a week. :driving:

@B21 whilst the majority of mechanical component are shared between the two cars, the interior parts are quite different and may have been sourced from different suppliers with differing quality requirements

Welcome to the forum Michael. Great looking Z4 you have there. :driving:  Waiting for dry roads is not an option here in the uk. Happily here in Cornwall it is seldom cold enough for them to salt the roads. ;)

Welcome Michael, congrats on the car, looking good! Is this your 1st manual car? I’m waiting on my Handschalter, landed in the uk a few days ago so should be with dealer for collection in a few weeks - can’t wait!

My Supra was an automatic. I really enjoyed the acceleration in that car. I haven't owned a manual in a very long time. It will take some
"getting used to". I did drive an M2 before I decided on the Z4. The clutch pedal in the M2 was not forgiving at all. The M2 is
all about speed where the Z4 is more about style and comfort. I think the Z4 is the prettiest BMW (long as you don't buy purple).
The supra felt lighter but the interior felt more cramped. The vents were fake which many folks complained about. The BMW
has better quality upholstery, Paint job seems better, the vents are real, and the doors and trunk lid sound very substantial when you close them.
My personal opinion is the Supra had a very attractive front end but the rear end of the car was lackluster. The Z4 is beautiful from all angles.
