New z4 coupe owner

Hi everyone I'm Chris

I bought my sapphire black z4 coupe a couple of weeks back from Scotland. It's a 2007 on 44.5k miles it's an auto with the red leather. Ive bought it as a compromise from my daily which it replaces (audi a6 3.0tdi) and my weekend toy which is a supercharged mk1 mx5. I was not getting to use the mx5 very often so I wanted something that bridged the gap between both cars. The coupe does this perfectly it's comfy and handles well and to top things off looks amazing.

I'm hoping to get along to some meets and drives out in the future and hopefully will get to meet some of you.

Welcome Chris, lots of coupes joining the forum at the minute. Nice looking motor - liking the mx5 too :thumbsup:
p.s. matching red leather interiors too.
 
Thanks Marlon, I've been piling on the miles on the z4 I've done over 1500 miles already and I've not had it long. It's a good job I'm starting off with low ish miles.

The only thing that's annoying me with it is the window doesn't always drop so sometimes it takes three attempts to shut the door before it finally decides to work as it should. I've tried the reset as suggested on here but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
 
Hi and welcome.

Like me you have 2 black cars that take some cleaning, but the Zed and the Mazda both look very clean and shiny!

The Mazda is around the 180bhp mark now so it goes really well, it's been set up for country lanes so the power figure is just about perfect as it's totally usable power. I did a 2800 mile road trip through Holland, Germany, Austria, Italy and Slovenia with these cars and it held its own all through the trip.

I don't think we actually went there but the places I did see were amazing the scenery was just awesome and the roads were so quiet. We stayed in a house not far from worthersee in Austria So each day was just a loop from there and back. I have all the routes we took as one of the cars had a tracker and it saves everywhere it goes.

This weekend I took the car for its first drive with friends we did Yorkshire, Cumbria and Northumberland taking in places like hawes and the hartside pass. We did around 300 miles and had a really good day out.

It's a gsi with the 2.0xe engine in it, it's pretty immaculate and goes really well. It's my mates who I share the unit with he's had it about nine years now. He rarely gets time to drive it.

The badge is not my doing, I laughed when I saw it but I'll probably never get round to removing it.
 
Some dental floss and a few minutes to clean and polish off any glue remnants are all it takes my friend.
Looks like a great day out though and some cracking roads.

Whoa Wyldie :o , you've gone and changed your Avatar! Always a shock for me when that happens, I remember when Paulgs1000 lost his baby face avatar - took me ages to adjust :(
So I'm guessing your new one is a 'Selfie' then :D
