Not great pics, but had it 5 weeks now, and done nearly 2500 miles - great car - but not on long journeys....planning a road trip and not sure whether to take this or my Range Rover...awesome sound when driven hard......
 
Granted it's a very californian/middle east type of combo - but am thinking of doing the same with my new Range Rover too......white and cream is a great look in my opinion....very rare too...but quite common in hotter places....
 
I'm a valeting OCD freak fortunately - so the interior gets done every other week, wiped down, Zainol products etc.....

As for long trips....I just did 8000kms, Rolf Dieter did 13,000kms. My trip was from Calgary to LA, 26 hours, LA to Phoenix, 8 hrs, PHX to Santa Fe, another 8 hrs then Santa Fe to Calgary, 24 hrs. Most days were 12-14 hrs behind the wheel and my Gf didn't complain once (friggin amazing !!!) These seats are miles better than the previous Z4 and Z3. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
 
Identical, apart from interior.....also have a stubby on mine too...works a treat. Do you know how to reset the mileometre? Thanks
 
Seat Comfort. I am 6'3" and a bit broad across the beam, comfort is not a problem in this car. They feel firm at first sitting, but actually are very comfy, keeping you in place at all times. I have done a few 200+ mile journies and get out fresh as a daisy.

I have ivory white package and it is some work to keep clean, particularly with the roof down so much but i love the look of the car. (reminds me i must search the forum for advice on cleaning the alcantara) I also agree comfort is good. It's a 10 hour drive from South of France to calais and although comfort perhaps not quite so good as my old 3 series with Msport suspension the Z4 was a pleasure to drive and i have manual transmission on my 35i.
Is it rude to ask where your road trip is taking you?

Also respect to mcbee and rolf-dieter, I love my road trips but yours are something else, awesome journeys.
 
There is a foam spray I use, just put on and wipe off and it cleans the door inserts and seat sides perfectly! The rub from the black seatbelts, just use a rubber (not a condom!) and make sure it's a new one, and the marks come right off.

As I have mentioned, I have OCD when cleaning my cars and clean each one at least 3 times a week....and keep a paint brush to clean the dash when sat at traffic lights!

Am heading to Zurich, and then south to the Alps, a few passes I want to drive along, and then to Milan and maybe Verona, and then back......

Please no blasts at me for saying this, but before the Z came, I looked very hard at a year old AMV8, in white again, and the lease payments were frightening, hence the Z, and even now, i think I made the right choice in terms of looks - I adore how it looks, especially in white and roof up. It's probably the prettiest car I've had, with the RRS being the most handsome car!

If you mean trip odometer by the term mileometer , there is a small tab on the edge of the speedo, push it.
If you look in the manual it's under "trip odometer"
 
The Grimsel, Furka and Susten, in switzerland, are a great drive, I've done them from Interlaken and you can do the circuit in a day. Beautiful scenery. The drive from austria down to Verona, if you go that way is at it's best when you come down the eastern side of Lake Garda. Verona is wonderful, one of my favourite places. We stayed at Hotel Aurora, Piazza delle Erbe 37121 Verona Tel 045 594717/597834 Fax 045 8010860
The hotel has great central location by the Piazza and everything is on your doorstep. You need to register your car to drive into the old city and parking is a pain, but Verona is so wonderful it's worth it.
Sorry for the monologue, you may have been a hundred times already so forgive me for babbling.
ps If your near Trento this is a great castle to stay in, food is excellent and the local wines delightful.

PPS if amV8 was an Aston then rock on, they are scary prices but what a car to have. The DBS volante is on my wish list, unfortunately i think that is as close to it as i will get.
