New Z4 3.0 service

Just bought a 04 Z4 3.0. Love it but want to give it a good going over.

I'm going to upgrade the vanos seals and give it a standard engine service (plugs, filters, oil, etc). Is there anything anything else that really needs doing or looking at while in that area. It has 69k on the clock and full service history. But I would like to know I am covering all the bases.

Will post a pic when I get to my laptop

Thanks

Why change the coolant I thought it was lifetime fill?

I wouldn't of thought it was

And even if it was I would still change it

Bmw's "lifetime" means warranty period. So a car with 70k miles on it and 8 years old is well out of that

Thanks for all the help guys keep it coming. Still in work :( so I will throw some pics of my baby when i get in

At 69K I would suggest changing all the fluids, engine oil, differential oil, transmission oil, brake fluid and coolant.
Other things that probably need done soon are:
Water pump & thermostat (may as well have them done with the coolant flush)
Belts (may as well have them done with the water pump)
DISA Valve (these tend to fail around 60K)

Keep in mind "lifetime" is BMW's way of not having to do the fluids while they are providing 'free' service during their warranty period.

If you intend to keep a vehicle after the warranty then fluid changes are a good idea...my Indy recommends Oil changes every 12K and other fluids every 60K.
As evidence...
My DISA failed at around 60K
My Belts were looking bad by 60K
My brake fluid was dark by 60K
The transmission and diff fluid did not look too dirty at 60K but I had them changed.
I have a small coolant leak at the thermostat at 60K so water pump, thermostat and coolant flush are next my list

Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years IIRC - the car will tell you, but I'd have it done and the OBC reset to reflect it
