New (!) Z

My first ever Z (in my name) and it's a 3!
Looks better in the photos than it is TBH. Low mileage.
The M54 3 litre engine does sound extremely nice though!

Superb

I was surprised how different the m54 engine sounds in a z3…

It’s a completely different animal

You will see and hear it soon enough Stuart! :D

Got a DSC fault showing, which the seller swears was not there when it went on the transporter. Any clues......and no I haven't got a code reader yet!

Yeah I had DSc issues- my simple code reader and Carly struggled because some systems are run off the obd plug and some from the 12 pin in the engine bay

I used inpa with an adapter it cleared mine and never came back

You need to invest in one of these- expensive but my god invaluable

The code wasn't on when it went on the transporter because he reset just before

My advice, get a code reader

Looks like a nice car, do you really have to break it up, wouldn't it be better to just wait a couple of days and then sell it on to someone who would cherish it as it is. Like usual

As a previous owner of 2 x 2.8’s and a 3.2, that one does look to be a rather good example. And 3 litres are pretty hard to come by - even Topaz ones  . Were there no ratted-out ones for sale to act as potential donor?

Yeah loads, but I really do not see the logic in buying a knackered, high mileage Z3 and then spending loads of money converting it. The conversion will cost the same no matter what base car it's on, so a good car underneath will make the conversion a better car, no? :)

Lots of people do buy 140k miles 2.8s for £2k and then spend £30k converting it. It's still a £2k knackered car underneath...that's my logic anyway. Also, it's pretty common knowledge that I am allergic to high mileage cars. I'm on tablets for it! :D
