Hello,

Some of you may remember this car was the star of a massive post from Looney about 'do I buy it or not'. I heard on the grapevine that he wasn't going for it, so I made a beeline to the showroom. After a half hour test drive and 12mpg later, I decided to buy it. I've had it for a week now and absolutely love it. Still not had a chance to take some decent pics, so here's a quicky:

Fair do's for making your own mind up & not listening to the negative vibes . fortune favours the brave & im sure going forward the car will reward you & stand out at any Zmeet ( which isn't easy by any means )
Any plans for it ?

I can see where the negative vibes came from, but there's only so much info you can get from some crappy photos. It's not until you see it in the flesh you get the true picture. - someone mentioned possible crash damage, it's got none. The gaps that some of the pics showed at the front of the doors, it looks like all E86's have such gap if pictured from a certain angle. The slightly raised bonnet at one side; is just one of the bonnet catches not working properly. The foggy headlight, that's been semi-fixed by the dealer. And well, the dodgy glovebox is still dodgy. My plans are to get all these issues fixed, also the rear suspension feels a bit sloppy and knocky so that's pretty high on my to-do list. Oh and that clutch delay valve is getting whipped out too. The car runs sweet and has bags of power, I'm really pleased with it.

Looks fantastic, i am very glad that someone here picked it up :)

Was a bargain for the price, i know that too but just wasnt to be!

I still think Looney made the right choice but glad this is now a forum car. Well done 👍

Congrats

Often pictures are taken of these with the bonnet not closed properly, due to having two catches and only one locked. As you say door gap is perfectly normal.

Ad this one doesn’t need aero skirts fitting 8)

Great news OP.

And this way the forum gets 2 more Coupes owning members!

I would have loved to find a red one, but didn't have the patience.

Even so, I might have been sorely tempted if it had been a bit nearer! :)

Anyway it sounds like you are enjoying the 3 litre N52 engine - they are rather addictive.

Good luck with your plans.

BTW, I'm not sure if it's just me but I can't see the photo you posted. :(
