I'm getting ready to change tyres, on my other cars i have used Toyo T1r and Yoko potenzas, the Toyos were very good in the wet and dry and i really liked the yoko's although in this tyre size they are expensive compared to the Toyo
any other options and why, im not against spending money on tyres but dont want to spend just for a name is there some quirk to the car that makes some tyres a deffinate no?

I've got Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's on mine and i've found them pretty good. Almost half the price of the old stock Continentals and more grip. Slightly "softer" feeling but maybe that's just. I've also managed to completely wore down my rears in just 6 months but then again i do have a very heavy right foot... Overall i'm happy with the Vredesteins, better performance than stock when scrub in and better price too.

I personally use GY's Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. The asymmetric approach to tread design certainly offers the best of all worlds; handling, improved even wear, traction and lower perceived noise. Since the tread design from each section of the footprint is made for the purpose it serves, you limit compromise to a minimum. Hey, even if I've been working for a tire manufacturer for the last 23 years, don't take my word for it, just look at wet racing tires

i have searched a few on line tire shops and cant find the goodyear in 225/45 18, do they make them or are you using a different size?

But we do (I mean they do  ) make the Asymmetric model in sizes 225/40R18 and 255/35R18. Those are the OEM sizes.

I fitted a full set of forum favourite Falken's yesterday. They suit the car well for everyday road driving. First day impressions are that they are quieter than the non rft's I was running previous. Stick to the road well also. I dare say "premiums" are better quality but as with most things it would be marginal at best.

Then you have an M version. If so, your correct with the size and it isn't made in the Asymmetric.

I'm replacing my nasty RFTs on Wednesday with a set of 225/45 17" Falken 452, I'll let you know what I think, I'm looking forward to reduced tramlining

remember this is an /m thread.. another vote here for the vred's, do a quick search to see why.

Just ordered a set of Vreds, found it difficult to find the 225/45 size
£577 including vat & fitting, i didnt think that was too bad

For the M? Where did you get them from ?

These guys are cheap for Vred's. I got mine fitted here as well but they do mail order as well.

I know I'm not an 'M' but I assume the Falken 452 range fit the 'M'. I'm pleased to say mine have transformed the tramlining, steering feel, stability, turn in and ride. I've no idea if they have the ultimate grip or track performance of RFTs or other brands, but for me the security of entering a bend or crossing white lines without being kicked off line improves performance, confidence and safety A - B

fronts had to come from Germany so it took a few days transport
