Never offer to swap front suspension on a Scottish car again!!!!
I’ve heard all the protestations from our blue-faced brethren, but actual real-world experience has convinced me the corrosion accusations are correct!
Half the 3.0si that PVR bought is waiting to be swept from the floor of his garage (which incidentally is bigger and better equipped than my house)

You will be telling us it rains in Scotland next.

PVR's man cave may yet become a forum shrine.

On the Porsche forums. :D

I'll go get my Hoover. :D

Hope you took your wire brush and gave it a good scrub when you were in there Martin.
No I didn’t. Paul was itching to grovel around and do it himself :D

Could be the new venue for Zedfest !!
There already is one! 'Zedfest North West' somewhere near Merseyside. August. Being organised by someone from the Zroadster forum (with the blessing of the chap from Shepshed apparently).

Away you go then.
Give him our best regards.

And a fine job Martin did as well (minus the pile of rust that was on the floor  ). Ben, no wire brush was used during the attack so the car still has a few kilos to lose.

The only complained I heard was that the garage was too hot :o

That is very true!
And I missed kneeling in gravel.

The sandwiches however, were excellent, as was the river of coffee.

The coffee was meant to give you the shakes so you could rattle the nuts lose

Sandwiches…?? All that way to help him out and you get sandwiches….?? :o

I hope they were finest sourdough with a lump of flame grilled cow in the middle….!

Bloody foreigners….

The sandwiches were sprinkled with Scotland’s finest
Hell! If I’d known they had whisky on them
I wouldn’t have eaten so many and driven home!!!

Well it sounds like Martin's trip was a success all round.

I bought a Scottish E46 in 2014 (I suppose the ST52 plate was a clue) and the running gear on that looked pretty crusty, which was one of the reasons I sold it in 2018 before anything needed doing. The next owner ended up having to get the exhaust to manifold bolts replaced after one rusted through!
