A couple of mods that I have done over the past few months, nothing drastic but thought id share them... (that is if I can upload pictures!)

'Performance' Gear Knob (that BMW told me wouldn't fit).

Photo2909.jpg

M Steering wheel - SOOO much better than the crappy bakolite standard effort

Photo2912.jpg

Dash panel done in Matt Phoenix Yellow. Didnt do centre panel as I felt it woudl be too much - wanted to keep the silver to match with the other silver items inside.

Lovely  is the dash painted or wrapped ? I want mine done in leather, but I think it will cost a fortune...

Dash looks great. How long did it take to remove and refit (excluding painting time)?

looks different :) the main thing is you like it, so well done

dash removal is easy, the little part by the headlight switch is just a few minutes and the main part, 15 to 20 minutes (if you haven't done one before, add a bit more time)

Original

Now I know who to speak to if I'm ever selling my interior

I didn't realise you had a yellow Z4 - my bi-colour black/yellow M seats, dash panel and doorcards would be awesome in yours.

Removing the dash panel was SO foutery! Took what seemed like forever! The worst bit was finding the lugs that hold the vents in, then lots of scraped knuckles removing the (many) clips that hold it on!

The dash was given to a local paint shop (I wouldn't trust anyone else) who matched the colour and painted it with a Matt finish to ensure no dazzling shine on that sunny day we have here in Scotland!

Ally:

Yes, your interior would look awesome in mine, lets swap! Where abouts are you? You arent the person I spoke to at the lights in Helensburgh are you!?

Well done on the steering wheel, you must have dremmel'd the bottom spokes like i did.

Interesting to see the dash yellow is quite a bold choice :o , im getting all my alu interior parts sprayed sterling grey next week, not matt though as i like the glossy glam

Nice one Valentino, like the colour co-ordination going on there.

How you find the performance shifter? I've ordered one, just wondering what difference it makes?

The Performance knob is great... it looks a million times better and is great to hold. I bought mine in Germany (about 1/3 the price it is here), but BMW here told me it wouldnt fit.... DUH!

Cheers Valentino, think I'll have to settle for the 15% discount from Jamie at Sophers, don't plan on going to Germany any time soon!

On another note, noticed your personalised number plate, was going to say was it a Valentine's gift to yourself, then noticed your username...are you some sort of stud/gigolo? Ha ha ha!
