Not sure I can spot all the difference and interior looks just like my wifes E92.

It is an improvement at least over the old model. They have upgraded the materials used at lease.

In the old X3 v X5, the X5 was hugely more luxurious whilst the X3 was only marginally cheaper. They seem to have addressed that.

I have personally never understood the attraction of these 'soft-roaders'/'Chelsea-tractors'. If you want an off roader get a Defender, if you want a practical spacious car get a 5 estate/a6 estate IMHO

Not quite though. I took the X5 to a ski resort on winter tyres and the 4 wheel drive system was great. No snow chains required. Also, with the winter we just had, the X5 was the only car that we could use that actually got us through our road.

On the motorway to the ski resort for example, it is an excellent quiet cruiser sitting at 90 - 100 very comfortable like a normal car. A Defender would deafen you and tire you out on journeys. In my mind, it is the perfect compromise.

I see your point pvr, just not for me - just something I dont like about any of them.

If I wanted a compromise I'd get an A6 allroad.

I like it - it has a nice new classy look to it.

I would consider buying one if I ever decided to buy a house out in the countryside.
