I'd agree with this. I think the Alpina suit the roadster better.
Why go for some sort of CSL variant, when a coupé pulls them off with more style

Will depend on whether you can find genuine e34 M5 ones, or have to go for 7/8 series ones, or replicas. Genuine forged M5 ones weigh LESS than CSLs - i.e. about 10kg without tyres compared to 12kg for the CSLs.StevenH72 said:They look fantastic. But how do they compare with regard to weight to the Z4M wheels or CSLs?
They *look* heavier, lol, but v nice as well! Never seen a Z with those M5 wheels on, pretty good job. Are they 18's?mmm-five said:Will depend on whether you can find genuine e34 M5 ones, or have to go for 7/8 series ones, or replicas. Don't know if the ones on the Z4 in the picture are 18's (the size of the sidewall would suggest so), but that's what the M5 wheels were with 245/45r18 all round.dmo said:They *look* heavier, lol, but v nice as well! I'd guess the e34 M5 rims with tyres would still weight slightly less, but I'm only going for show, not goStevenH72 said:They look like 18s.
As an aside, back to the weight issue.
18" E34 M5 rims = 10kg
19" CSL rims = 12kg
What difference, in terms of weight, would you expect between the 18" and 19" tyres?
i.e would the 18" tyres weight more and potentially negate any weight savings?

If you're after something diferent but classy, how about the a BBS fi style replica, a quick photoshop on a popular coupe... they're my current pick for a future summer wheel swap:

That ones for sale..... linkyZmachine said:Have to say the black Alpina looks the nuts body kit and wheels combined. Always been a fan of the Alpinas due to their rarity. Wish mine looked like that!
