So, I was pretty set on Alpina wheels, but after looking at others, not sure I'm sure anymore.

What do you guys think? Car is a black roadster with M front.

So, the options;

Alpina:

1M:

I think that picture of the black Z4 is what really made me want those wheels. Absolutely stunning, but there are also a lot of pics of Alpina wheels that look decidedly average, which is what worries me. The 1M wheels may look a little after market CSL rep'ish, as most people wouldn't know they're 1M wheels.

I dont want the car to look like it has a set of after market Halfords alloys on it, and are the Alpina's a little 'bling'?

Vote away!

Thanks

If you vote other, you're likely 108 or CSL fans, neither of which rock my world

M bumpers, quad exhausts, CSLs... all things to all people. I have an M front, its not an M. Sue me, its a lot about the looks.

Personally, love the dynamics (go figure  ) not so much a fan of sparkle silver though, as it can look a bit bling. So in my mission to de-ginger and de-chrome mine, am looking at alternative colourings.....

Other!
Alpine is outdated (not retro-cool) in my world.
1M is to much like CSL = EVERY one have them. Boring!

I would go for these, nice and open rim:

Thanks.

My previous zed had BBS LM, which I loved, but don't want to own the 'same' car again. The Alpinas to me, in that top picture at least, look amazing.

I do like the F10 M5 alloys, BUT, unless you have a BBK, open wheels and oem calipers can look really bad. I'm just not sure the zed can pull off open type alloys, that well. Look at a Z4 with M6 alloys, looks wrong.

I'm really liking the standard M wheels. The only thing I'm thinking about changing is Shadow Chrome finish...

Those new BMW wheels are nice though...

Must resist any more shiny moments. I have a pile of stuff to fit to IMmie and the dogs want a walk.

Not a fan of the Alpina's overly complicated, 1M look lush though

The 1M are very nice, but you don't like CSLs, so how come you like the 1M wheels, they're pretty similar?

I've always liked the Alpina wheels and would look great, especially like in Markeg's post

I don't dislike CSLs, but as has been said, they're the common choice and have been done to death. The 1M is the fresher, deeper, more aggressive brother of the CSL, which I do quite like, but not sure they will fully suit the car. I think the Z4, even in M guise, is more a cruiser in appearance. It isn't covered in grills, vents, bulging arches, so really aggressive rims just may not suit. This is why I'm more drawn to the Alpina's I think, as that top picture looks just right. As I've said though, I have seen many a pic of them that didn't look half as good, so not 100% sure.

Maybe take the 'safe' choice and go back to my 19" BBS LMs 8)

Here's a pic of the dynamics on a black roadster (actually 2alpsade's roadster)

If I was changing mine (which I'm not), I'd go for M-Parallels from the later e34 M5.

They look fantastic. But how do they compare with regard to weight to the Z4M wheels or CSLs?

How about the VMR V710's, I think they offer a nice alternative dynamic to the CSLs and could be a contender in the same vein as the 1M's.

The alpina wheels are boss and rare. Would buy them but good luck lol... they are hard to find and expensive.

CSLs also expensive and hard to find. I voted alpina because CSLs look better on the coupe I think.

Also the CSLs have been done to death... How many Z4s have you seen with OEM CSLs? Ive never seen one apart from at meets. Think mine looks awesome with them.
