New wheels on my Alpina...

#320 is only wearing these as three of her wheels are going to be refurbished and Steve was kind enough to lend me a couple of his winter wheels to hold the back end up in the air, the NS front is sitting on a style 379 from our F20 as three of those wheels are also going for refurb, so it's a real mish-mash at the moment... I originally thought we'd need all four of the F20 wheels refurbed before it's returned to the lease company but closer inspection revealed that one of them had somehow escaped unmarked...

...before anyone says anything, other than being moved in and out of the garage, #320 will not be driven like this....
 
They look cool. But what caught my attention was the Egyptian cotton duvet covers? Is that a way of covering the car without scratching it?

I was thinking the same, I can do you a special deal on the other two :lol:

Loks a close fit on the rear. I'm guessing they won't fit on the back of mine. Might try one day.

The blue duvet cover is just something I throw over the roof everytime it goes in the garage, the white thing is a full size soft fabric car cover - I only put that on after the car has had a chance to cool down or dry out

Just goes to show how much character the wheels add to your car. Cover the front of the picture and it looks like... A red 2.0 SE with a wannabe spoiler :lol:
 
Do they fit over the front, look to small to clear the calipers.

You need a minimum of 17" wheels to clear the front calipers - the 17" winter wheels for the F20 work fine but, as I'm also taking the F20 wheels for refurb, they are currently on the F20

I got the winters to fit both the F20 and, in an emergency, #320, this is when I did a test fitting to make sure they'd work - they're MSW alloys, part of the OZ group

You need to lower it now to suit the new wheels. That would be a sight, :cry: think the metal would be on the tarmac :!:
 
I should have tried going bigger - I've just picked up a set of these for the X3

They're 18" 307s with 245/50 winter runflats so the diameter is about a 2" larger than the Alpina Dynamics - offset isn't too far off so they would probably fit OK

Not sure, it's only an extra inch all round and people have fitted 20"s... I'll try it at some point, even if they only allow me to roll in and out of the garage it'll mean that, as the F20 is going at the start of November, I can sell the 17" winters
