New Wheels on - issue with TPMS Valves - MOT Failure?

Yes you certainly should not crack a rim fitting a tyre, when fitting new tyres the force is applied to the outside of the rim whereas the cracks appear to the inside

Id agree no wheel should be cracked or split simply from tyre removal or fiutting but not always the case that the tyre is fitted to the outside or face . many aftermarket wheels need to be laid face down ( on rubber machine inserts ) & tyres fitted in effect backwards

Best of luck getting this sorted , removing tyres is often where the rims get damaged so be wary .

This is what I’m so concerned about... especially Kwik Fit (no offence to anyone who works there but previous bad experiences!).

So stressful!

If you have had previous bad experiences why are you going back there?

Need my car and at the moment, they seem to be the only place equipped to deal with my issue! Even BMW would need to order the valves in!

Used a few tyre fitting machines in my time, but never needed to mount the wheel upside down, so that must be something new.

Both my last 2 sets of 19s needed to be tyred up inverted , i think its due to the spoke sitting marginally proud of the rim

Have you checked on the price of sensors from BMW? I had to get some for my Discovery a couple of years back and they cost me about £220 for the set of four from JLR, dont be tempted by the Ebay ones, I was and received a set of very convincing fakes, got my money back but still had the hassle of having to have the things removed and then the real ones refitted.

BMW wanted £65 each plus fitting.
