Just had new wheels delivered AC star five matt grey,so bought a tub of poorboys wheel sealant to treat them before fitting to car,the instructions said to polish the wheel first which I did but now there are hazy, blotchy streaks on the wheel and I'm wondering if I've done the right thing.

I can't answer your question, but I have matte black wheels and have never polished or sealed them. I heard you shouldn't do that with matte stuff.

Wheels and tyres now on car but fronts are rubbing on full lock, tyres went up a size to 235/45-18 anyone else had this problem,do I refit the old 225/45 -18 size?

Going from a 225/45 to a 235/45 you have increased the profile of the tyre around 9mm, so 4.5mm loss in arch gap, might have been best to go with a 40 profile.

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=45&diameter=18&wheelwidth=8&offset=40&width2=235&aspect2=45&diameter2=18&wheelwidth2=8.5&offset2=20#content

I had a guess on the rim width, didn't bother with offsets

Hmm,looks like I dropped a clanger on the profile, whilst wanting a slightly wider tyre to protect the wheel rim I hadnt bargained on the extra sidewall height combined with the difference in offset (7mm) putting the tyre so close to the arch, lessons learned here so next tyre change I go for original or drop to /40.

respect for being different but imo they really don't suit the car at all.... they look tiny also which is strange as the z4 doesn't need any bigger than 18s.

Gotta agree with beedub , the Z does suit a 5 spoke & appreciate wheel choice is very personal so its good to see folks trying different options .
As you stayed with 18s did you consider doing the OEM 224s in matt grey ? they could have looked great against the Imola red :?
