New Wheels and Offset Query

Hi guys,

I am looking into buying an E85 2.5/3.0 Z4.

I would like to upgrade the wheels but am a little unsure on what size fits offset wise. What's the lowest offset you could go on the front and rear without having to do any work to the arches?

I am currently looking into 18x9.75 ET20 on the rear and 18x8.75 ET35 on the front. I am aware that the rears might not fit as the offset seems a little too low, but the fronts might fit, correct?

Finally, is the stud pattern on the z4 5x120?

Cheers,
Jack

Firstly your stud pattern is 5x120
The centre bore is 72.6
I've never heard of wheels being 8.75 or 9.75 wide, I presume you mean 8.5 and 9.5. In any case if you are looking at those widths I would stick around an offset of et35 for both front and rear anything lower and you may get rubbing on the arches.
Use this offset calculator The original 18 inch wheels are 8'' fronts et47 and 8.5'' rears et50.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Seen a number of XXR alloys advertised as either 8.25J and 9.75J , so guess Jack is looking at getting a set of these

Jag alloys are 5x108 so an adapter will be needed. This also means your offset will get changed depending on the adapter thickness....

Welcome to the forum!

Jag actually used to use 5x120.65 on the XJ and XK so you could probably just about get away with them :)
