New Wheels and Non Runflat tyres... HELP

Hi people,

Just had my new ellipsoids with Falken 452s fitted yesterday. Headed off to work this morning and my tyre pressure monitor light came on. Has anyone else had this problem with non runflats?

Found my rear springs were smashed into several pieces too. Should I go with OEM replacements or Aftermarket, don't really want to lower the car but don't want the problem to occur again. The springs had been badly corroded and I think this is why they fail. In order to deal with the cyclic loading on suspension springs, the material should remain flawless. :headbang: How can BMW produce such a poorly engineered part? :?

Can anyone help with this, not sure what to do about the tyres at the moment :poke:
 
The tyre pressure monitoring system may just need initialising - check the pressures first:

From the handbook:

Initialising the system;

The initialisation is completed while you are driving, and can be interrupted at anytime.
Initialisation is automatically continued when you continue driving.

1. Start the engine, but do not drive off.
2. Press the button (in front of the gear lever) as long as you need to until the yellow indicator lamp in the instrument
cluster lights up for a few seconds.
3. Drive off. Initialization is completed during the drive.

As for the springs had both mine done with OEM replacements and no further issues (should I have said that....?). Like you I did not want to lower.
 
I have said it before and I will say it again, it aint just BMW with the springs problem, my mother's SLK has had the same problem.

I went OEM, can't remember the cost though.

I wouldn't want the car any lower where I live :(

First one was done free...... talk to your dealer he may be able to help. Second one due to age and mileage I had to pay for £95 - parts and fit.
 
Just got a quote from sopers lincoln for £160 usually £180 (for both). Not happy :x

Jo said that there is no BMW goodwill for this and its only covered by cars under warranty :cry:
