New wheel colour advice

I'm getting tired of looking at my standard issue rims.

I don't want to spend money on new rims but does anyone have suggestions for a new look (with pic)? I'm not sure I want to go all the way to black gloss and would rather retain some contrast.

I would stick with silver against your black paint. Maybe a hyper silver or shadow chrome like this

Or graphite grey like this (doesn't do it for me though)

Or be brave and go for glossy black like this. Fit some black grilles to complete the stealth look...nice !

I like the gloss black - would match my hardtop for winter and my new gloss black grills. Maybe when my MV2's need a refurb. I'll be brave.

Black wheels on a black car rarely does it for me (although I've seen a couple that get away with it when going for a very 'aggressive' look).
Gunmetal looks quite good (as on The_Dude's car), or the hypersilver/shadow chrome as also shown, but it sounds like you want to get away from that sort of look?

Thanks for the comments and pics. Some very similar sentiments to my own...

Not sure I'm brave enough for black gloss, either, although they do look rather lovely close up.

I was already thinking about anthracite/graphite/gunmetal so these these must be the most sensible options. I did also wonder about 2-colour: black centres with gradient spokes and a lighter rim (or should it be the other way round?) I'm sure I've seen something of this nature before but can't find any pics.

Is the black roof a statement, Marlon, or just the way it came?
