New Vreds - Weird

My old 325 coupe used to feel like that (horrible!) with new tyres. Check the pressures (I was happiest with them in that car at the upper limit and the garages always under inflated them) but expect them to wear in over a couple of hundred miles.

Have you checked the Vredestein website?
This has been discusssd before and someone contacted Vredestein who said that their website pressures were maximums but they should be run higher than OEM. I've been running mine at 2.3 front and 2.5 rear which seems OK to me.

I made the switch from RFT's last month to Continental Contisportcontact 3 last month. For the first week or so I actually thought there was something loose in the steering!! 
The 'looseness' and 'wallow' at 70mph+ was unreal. I was beginning to think that I had made an expensive error in the switch to non-RFT's. :?
However, I have since done approx 300 miles + and the tyres seem to be bedding in and the 'looseness' seems to be going away. It's still not 100% but I am fairly confident that it will get better with more miles (either that or I am getting used to the loosenes!). From reading this thread, I will probably double check the tyre pressures as well in the next few days or so....

Glad it's not just me then.
Changed my rears to a pair of Kumho KU39's. Under 80 it's fine, as soon as I'm into three figures and doing anything apart from going dead straight, the car gets floaty and gives a wiggle not unlike a very, very, very mild "tankslapper" if you see what I mean?
I've now done 500 miles and it's much, much better than it was. Not completely gone yet, but not far off. My tyre pressures are bang on, so as soon as I'm happy that they've bedded in 150% I'll start playing with pressures to find the optimum.
The wiggle was quite unnerving at high speed though, so if anyone's fitting new rears, drive with caution for the first few hundred miles.

On my second set of rears and Vreds do feel very odd for a while - settle after about 500 miles or so, then properly scrubbed in after 1,000. So I've found. Worth sticking with them though.
Thought I'd report back too. 800 miles in and my Kumhos are gripping beautifully.
I'm wondering if it's due to amount of camber on the rear wheels, resulting in the tyres taking slightly longer to bed in..? I found that harder cornering seemed to speed the bedding in process, again pointing me towards the amount of camber slowing the bedding process due to more weight being placed on the inside of the tyre and not evenly spread iyswim..?!

Snap, I've also just fitted 4 Vred's (1 week ago). I know what you mean, although for me it feels like the steering is lighter, the RF's always used to feel that you had to keep a firm grip of the wheel.
The difference is huge and has made the whole driving experience exciting all over again
