New tyres, wow!

Just got new tyres on the Z4 after having different brands and treads on each wheel (bought the wheels from someone who just stuck some part worns on) and its like night and day!

Absolutely transforms the way it drives and feels even in the wet weather we've had today :D :D

If anyone is interested I went for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres all round (225/40/18 front, 245/35/18 rear) from Blackcircles as they were doing a 15% off Goodyear tyres. All done for £365! I believe TyresOnTheDrive are doing 15% 4 tyres at the moment too.

Happy happy :driving:

I Know what you mean, mine had 2 different tyres on the rear which were different to the front and it was scary when it was given full throttle, where now with the MPS4S’s on there’s no drama at all, it just feels so well planted.

Thx does the 255/35 18 not fit?

It does fit and is the standard size tyre for the rear wheel, but the 245/35/18 are £10 a tyre cheaper, have negligible difference in rolling circumference (see image) and with the F1 A5s I definitely don't need 255 levels of rear grip.

I thought 255/30 was the standard rear?
I almost certain that's what is on mine.
Also considering going down to 245 or 235 to save afew pennies when I replace them in spring.

Its 255/30 on 19" rims but 255/35 on 18" rims as far as I am aware. This ties up with my (albeit nerdy) calculator:

How strange. It looks like the previous owner of my car dropped the tyre profile by one step both front and rear.
That would explain why the Speedo is out by a good few percent!

I would welcome just a few mm of extra ride height so I will be putting it back to stock in spring
