New tyres....where from?

Need some new rear tyres, question is where from?
I have used tyres on the drive before but they are looking a bit pricey. I normally ring round the local and go with the cheapest.
I haven't used the internet suppliers like black circles etc. When you go to a tyre fitters with internet tyres do you get the same service?

Yes. I have had interweb tyres ever since I bought the Zed. Some sites include fitting, at their approved fitters. Personaly, I simply hunt around the web, for the best price for my favourite MPSS. Then take them to my local fitter, who changes £15 a corner to fit and Ballance? :) Simples.

By the way, you can fit a rear tyre in the passenger seat. :o Handy that.. :D

mytyres, based in germany but delivers to your door free in 5 days, way cheaper than black circles, who started cheap but now they are well known are expensive.

the falkens incidentally are rated nearly as good as the pilot 4 but literally half the price

2nd that, Ive been using mytyres the last 6 years or so and they are great value

yup, Mytyres, Costco & ASDA tyres are all good by my experiences

Blackcircles are now owned by Michelin and give you a choice of fitters in your local area - very happy as chose ATS euromaster to fit them who’re also now owned by Michelin

F1 autocentres also tend to offer good deals

As for most places, go b polite & chat to the fitter themselves, asking their advice how true & unwarped the wheel is... then say know will look after your alloys & just ask to take extra care - a chokkie bar normally goes down well

Good hunting

Which Falkens are they mate?

I've used Tyre leader, oponeo and camskill the last few years. Prices seem to fluctuate every few days and sometimes the dates on the tyres are older than I'd like (e.g. Manufacture date has been a year before I ordered), but that's a problem with stock not selling I guess.

Not an issue for me though, as my tyres only last a couple of years at the absolute maximum.

My set of Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's in staggered 18'' fitment only cost me £275 from camskill, which is well worth it for quality tyres. Fitting cost is obviously extra, but I was going to fit them when getting a wheel refurbishment done, so wouldn't cost me anything.

I use a local tyre guy , who, when you mention what you can buy them for, will match the price and I can trust who fits them. He is also known to swop a set of tyres and rebalance for £20 cash  . Keeps him in business and being he gets the tyres , next day from main suppliers , means you get fresh dated ones too.

I also use Oponeo, Camskill and BlackCircles, and as above get my local friendly (and very careful) mobile tyre fitter to come and do the set for 20 quid.

Can the mobile fitters do the balancing accurately ?
I take the car to Germany each year and would hate to feel a wheel wobble on the only time in the year the car can be driven like its able to driven!

i might be wrong, but i was told its the best way as it harmonises with the car and compensates for any suspension anomalies.

blimey - 80 quid for the best ..
