New tyres 265/30 19"

Need replacement rears for my 19" conti contact sports. I don't really want to spend that much (say a max of £200 per tyre). Can anyone recommend a cheaper set or even a decent website to use?

So far Ive got my eye on:

Falken FK 452 or 453's (about £165 per tyre)
Hankook K110 VENTUS V12 EVO XL(£175ish)
Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA(£195ish)
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti (£220ish)

I don't know much about tyres but want an all round tyre for every day and year use that will still give decent grip. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

P.S. Should I go for XL tyres or not?
 
I have had the Vred Sessanta's and i really liked them,hard wearing and great in all situations...

Had Falkens 452's and i thought they were crap,noisy and only average at best at everything else...

Sorry,cant comment on the others as i havent had them..
 
Go for the vorti.

You dont need XL! The car doesnt weigh anything, especially on the rear!

I fitted 265/30/19 Michelin pilot super sports to my 335d payed £ 254 each, I know it's a bit more expensive but they are fantastic & will last a lot longer than budget tyres. Use falken 452' on my zed & there good value. But the Michelins are in a different league. Worth the extra IMO :thumbsup:

I have the Vorti's on 18's all round. Cost me 550 fitted and balanced.
Very happy but took a few days to sort out the pressures.
The tyre fitters did it way to high but they need more pressure than the Sessantas so it seems.

Great in the wet too

From what I read , xl is as much about speed as weight.
 
XL is weight based, the speed rating is the H, V, W, etc
An extra bit spent now will be money well spent...I.e A premium tyre will often wear better so in the long term makes a better buy.
 
If you are still undecided I would recommend the Vorti's great tyres in dry or wet. Price really wasn't the issue. I chose these over Michelin s/sports and Goodyear F1 based on reviews and comments, and have not been disappointed.
