OK, not another ride. :P My first digital SLR! Just came UPS today. Charging batteries now, so haven't even been able to turn it on yet! Pentax K2000. I had to go w/Pentax rather than Nikon or Cannon b/c I already have 4 Pentax SLR lenses that will work. Saves a TON of $$ that way! Also had hot shoe flash. Can't wait to take pics of my other fave toy: my Z! :D

Welcome to the 21st century... :poke:
Be sure to enter the photo contest using your new digital SLR... :camera:

Thanks to you WLH for helping me step up! You sent me the link to the K2000. :D Had been thinking of it forever, but nothing ever pushed me over the edge to spend the $$. Then along came the Z.... as my husband says "the hidden cost of ownership" This includes all the time I spend washing it, now new camera, BMW insulated coffee cup that fits perfectly in cup holders, etc, etc. Lots for my Xmas list. LOL

Z4Me, I was happy to see that the link helped...
I was impressed with the backwards compatibility that you will have with the K2000... :)
Seem much better than Nikon which is the direction I went many years ago... :(
Did I mention to be sure and enter the photo contest... :camera:

First thing I did when I opened the box was grab my ancient manual SLR and make sure the lenes fit. Like a dream.... Ahhhh. My job is computer centric, but I want my camera to be totally manual. I hate the computer part of the digital cameras! Have to get batteries charged to see how this new one is.

If I get good pic, I will enter contest! I'm not a photoshoper yet, so they'll be "raw". Nashville is not at all my fave place to be, and I'm having a hard time finding good photo ops for the Z. I tend to love the crumbling urban scene, but don't want to get shot taking pics! Can't find any freaking grass to put my silver Z on and she doesn't show that well on pavement. Need to take a road trip to my fave place: Chattanooga. :driving:

I love all manual and no tech nonsense for camera too. Except I don't love burning film and paying for processing. I love the instant feedback of digital pics. And no film to buy!
