The Blade has gone... long live the blade... replaced by this...

Way down on power compared to the blade, but for touring and comfort and torque... this is ace! Came with every Ducati carbon extra, and great akra slipons..

Yup.

Took out a 1299 ( too uncomfortable for touring), zzr1400 (too heavy at slow speeds) bmw nineRT ( hard work at autobahn speeds) and this just fits the bill. Superb for the roads, turns in so quick, loads of torque at 3k revs all the way up, the quick shift is ace, up and down, brembos are great. Only 115 brake, but upto 8k revs feels more rapid than the blade.... it seems so far, an ideal all rounder.

Yes down quite a bit on power compared to the blade but should still be fun. Just need ragging round a track now

Easy to get hung up on huge horsepower figures, for touring/road use its torque that’s more important than bhp. Comfort & ease of use are the biggest considerations imho. New bike looks smart

Definitely. Every time I took the blade out, it was full on. Couldn’t ride it without pinning it at least once... and got me a few tickets on the way. I threw some good money at it with Motrac engineering, and Jenny Tinmouth racing and not long ago had an Ohlins upgrade and KAIS set up.. ... quarter throttle, 177 at rear wheel,.... loved it when we went away abroad, but uk roads are just too congested and speed cams at every turn. s**t on fuel and hard as nails, but loved it to bits when I could use it properly, which to be fair, was not that often...and on a 3k mile tour away, I was feeling the discomfort.

So, time for a change of pace and comfort.

Lovely bike. I came very close to buying one last year but ended up with a street triple.
Lovely riding position with the Ducati

Lovely looking bike. :D I am going to Lake Como (Cernobbio) myself in April/May if the virus threat lessons and we can get in and out. I will be taking the car though. Enjoy your touring.

 I got rid of my Fireblade after 2nd straight disqualification, no tickets or totting up, straight to the main event. Breaking the white line with vehicles coming the other way seemingly turns it immediately into dangerous driving rather than speeding. could’ve been in and out 3 times over before the car would’ve even been close

I agree, our roads are no good as the temptation is way too much. Haven’t had a bike for a number of years now. The soft tops were a licence retaining compromise.

Your new bike looks lovely  I’m not jealous at all

You need to buy another one of those and hang it on the wall in the lounge.

Tis gorgeous. 8)

Love the concept of the definition of a ‘touring’ motorcycle

Wow lovely choice. Every one should own one at least once.. My choice if/when it comes will be red though nothing wrong with white

I've always loved the looks of a Ducati but hated the idling sound... to much slapping and mechanical noises going on for me over the Honda's:rofl: I downgraded from a number of blades to a old vfr800 just for very occasional fun rides.. looks lovely! Enjoy  20191020_173443.jpg
