OK, picking up (hopefully) Z4 on an 11 plate (UK) this week. It's the 2.5 with the M kit upgrade and some other 'Optional Extra's'. Really looking forward to it and no doubt will be asking a lot of stupid questions till I get used to the thing.

Buying it from a BMW dealer and obviously comes with a 12 month warranty so should be at least a years fret free motoring. The last year has been a nightmare (a very expensive nightmare) with a Chrysler 300C so hoping for better things.

Any how, nice to be joining and looking forward to bowing to you guys and girls wisdom and enjoying the chat, banter and assistance.

Cheers!!!

I found the BMW dealership warranty very reassuring and though I bought my latest Zed in Warrington all warranty work was completed 200 miles away in Newcastle upon Tyne - no problem at all.

'Skinhead' eh - that's an interesting choice and brought a few memories back. . . . .I'm old enough to remember them the first time round - in fact (luckily) my sister went out with the 'King' of the skinheads in my old town - saved me from a good kicking a time or two :D

Welcome to the Forum

:D :D I was a Skinhead first time round. I'm no young imposter. Never been anything else, either Skinhead or nothing and got back into it years and years ago.

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome

I too remember skinheads first time round

What was the problem with the 300C?
I have always liked them and nearly bought one a couple years back.

It's a great car to drive and has real presence but there was just a continual issue of things, had to install a new audio system, it has 22" rims and chewed through tyres, suspension issues, faulty electric window, faulty heated drivers seat, bust water pipe and more recently some sort of electronic throttle issues whereby it died on itsel;f at 2000 revs and above. Parts were pretty expensive and hard to source locally (Aberdeenshire). Plus I believe Chrysler have pulled out of the UK so things weren't gonna get better. It was costing too much to keep on the road so thought I'd go for something more reliable and hopefully the Z4 will fit that bill. :)

Oh dear
Think I'll steer clear in future then.
I had a Crossfire between my Z's. Didn't have any probs with that.
