Hey everyone,

My name's Kai... I'm brand new to the site and to BMWs as my girlfriend just picked up a 2007 certified preowned Z4 last weekend. 3.0i with premium + sport packages, xenon lights, and bluetooth. So far we both love it. I'm hoping to learn a lot from the forum and eventually have my own contributions. I myself haven't stepped up to BMWs yet.. I have a 2006 Accord coupe 6speed, heavily modified (NOT advance autoparts rice) with a 3.5L NA custom built engine. After the z4 warranty is up I might tinker with the z4 but until then looking forward to learning all about it!

thanks!

no pics of the Z4 yet... but here are some of my accord. I autocross the car and it actually does well, especially with a set of Hoosier slicks:

3.5L, 11:1 compression, running on a AEM piggyback

and lastly... i retrofit the s2000 digital cluster into the car along with some defi gauges:

(the cluster currently isn't in the car since I'm working on redoing the fiberglassed bezel... that was my first attempt ever at fiberglassing so it came out a bit rough and the paint didnt match the interior

Nice engine bay!

 I was thinking the exact same thing.

You have a very nice car there, it shows that you know what you're doing on the mods front. Insurance costs put me off modding. I am looking forward to what suggestions you can make for the Z4, as far as i am aware there isn't much to in the way of gains to be had with the 3.0 litre engine unless you fit a supercharger.

Welcome.

thanks all for the warm welcomes!

I probably won't be doing much with the z4 for a few reasons: it's my gf's car... under factory warranty until 2013 (certified preowned)... is automatic, and I won't be autocrossing it or pushing it to any limits.. and then the expense and tools needed to work on the car! I have a friend who taught me everything I know about hondas and the accord who built the engine and custom parts with myself helping and learning.. but he doesn't have the specialized tools to work on German cars.

But then again.. I love to tinker so after the warranty is gone and some time passes my position may change :D

One mod I will definitely be doing to the car is replacing the black w/chrome outline grilles with the graphite grilles... pics to come soon!
