New to the Z Club! Tips!

Purchased my first Z4 today (I’ve had other BMW models; e46 M3, 1 series in varying models) but always loved the look of these so took the plunge!

I’ve gone for a car with a few bits of ‘project work’ to refresh it, as I’m a sucker for spending money & ‘tinkering’. Looking firstly at replacing the steering wheel; it’s a 2007 2.0ltr & currently has a very chunky steering wheel that’s looking a bit tired. Of course I’m looking to refresh to an M Sport wheel, but just wanting to get some advise on expectations of acceptable cost to get done professionally as well as source, as I don’t trust myself with this kind of job.

Any help (& feel free to throw in any other advice or ‘watchouts’ for a new owner) much appreciated.

Hi, and welcome. Royal Steering Wheels seem to get a lot of positive reviews on this forum - do a search here for past threads and you'll see some of the refurbished steering wheels members' have had done.

Welcome to another BMW addict.

I've had two E46 Compacts, two E86s, and E87 and an E91 - love em! :worshipbmw:

Everyone on here seems to rate Royals for steering wheel refurbs - last time I saw a price quoted it was £130.

And we like to see photos on here - it's like an unwritten rule!

Hi and welcome, if the replacement steering wheel is in good condition its a straight swap. Much like changing a car alloy wheel.

Royals route is also popular will be about £130? Plus the steering wheel and postage expenses on top.
Otherwise the M wheel is about £250-300 for a good one.
