New to the BMW Z4, definitely not new to BMW. Just traded in my 2012 135i M Sport DCT for this gorgeous new beauty:

I always had a secret crush on the Z4 roadster. Was searching for a replacement for my 1er for about a month and I just couldn't find anything to replace it that I really thought was worth it. Then I saw this brand new 2016 Z4 SDrive35i at the dealer while test driving a M235i they had. It has the 677 Audio option (subwoofer going in next week sometime), M Sport package, Comfort Access, Navigation, and Heated Seats. It was a hail sale special with a ridiculously low lease payment (not dumb enough to buy a hail car). I just couldn't pass it up. It's 99% repaired and looks gorgeous. Though I wish it were a 35is, as my previous 1er was a M Sport with PPK1, I don't feel like I am losing much with an M Sport 35i model Z4 such as this with all the options. Thus far it's been interesting going from a N55 to a N54. Looking forward to taking in the knowledge here and, hopefully, offer some of my own.

Welcome to the forum  that's a great looking E89 with a cracking engine although I don't know how to break this to you but, the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car

Appreciate the compliment! I'll have the dealer check out the steering wheel location issue. :D

Found good info. on this site before purchasing, so I figured I would join anyway despite being in another country than the majority.

Glad to hear that. I feel welcome.

Mods are on the way. ESS or Dinan tune (money's there, just deciding still) and Eibach springs are already on order. I'm actually stunned and pretty pissed BMW doesn't offer PPK for this car. Especially considering it's a N54 engine. Also have a Kuda cell phone mount (because there's NO convenient place for a phone in this car) due here today, hopefully will get it mounted this evening after work.

Always love the lack of a front plate you have over there, makes the car look so much better.

As a mod, I would always suggest to lose the Z4 badge on the rear as that has always looked wrong to me where it is.

Very nice 35i, very good spec.

You have a place for your phone under the armrest, plus depending on the model of phone you can buy a cradle for it that connects into the cars idrive without a lead. Pop to your dealers and ask for a snap in adapter.

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Welcome aboard.

And I've fixed your steering issue for you free of charge. ...Who needs a dealer !

Sadly, in the state of Texas, a front plate is a requirement. There are many states that don't require it, and that is what probably lead you to believe it's a nationwide thing here. The removal of this requirement has a movement behind it to be abolished but, so far, it hasn't been put forth in the state legislature. Luckily, the dealer hadn't drilled holes yet and the kit was in the trunk. It's now in my garage. I don't intend to drill at all. If I get hassled too much for it (it's a $10 "fix-it" ticket here in TX), I will probably go get a tow hook mounted bracket as opposed to drilling the bumper.

I will consider the removal of the badge, now that you mention it. I always de-badged the model letters/numbers on my vehicles prior to my previous 135i. Two were MB's and two were Audi's. I think (at least for the Audi's) it had something to do with the highly modified cars they would and did become that really lead me to keep up that tradition. I guess with the 1 series (it only had PPK loaded on it), I wasn't ashamed? :-|

With my keys (house, etc.) that I keep in there and other essentials I prefer to have in my center console, I don't have room for the phone (iPhone 6S) and I don't use it for music. I have an inactive iPhone 4 that I used as an iPod in the pouch. BMW wants way too much money for the snap-in and I can't justify it when Bluetooth works just fine for connectivity to the iDrive. Also, I want to be able to use Waze on the phone in addition to the BMW Nav. The Kuda mount will serve me well for that purpose, I believe.

Why thank you kind sir! :D \

And now to share the my former 2012 BMW 135i M Sport DCT, as pics seem to be a huge requirement around here:

The first pic is post Eibach install. I intend to use the same on the Z4, as stated above. I was fine with the ride on the OEM shocks and the lowering was perfect for my taste.

Got the car flashed with Dinan Stage II on Monday @ BMW West Houston in Katy. Definitely worth the $1100 and the gains are even a little more than I expected. Car doesn't drive like a "tuned" car. Very smooth, OEM feeling. Overall VERY satisfied with it. I would recommend it to anyone. The dealer and SA I worked with over there was wonderful. Customer service was excellent. Short and sweet.

Nice car with good spec you've got there!
Welcome to the forum and enjoy! :driving:

This made me laugh

Trouble is with that, is that it is now a WMB.

I'll get a pic thread up in the other section once the VMR's go on. Tires are on backorder, so I have no ETA on when that will happen, but the wheels are sitting over at the shop.
