Hey everyone,

Recently made the jump from a 2010 BMW 123d to a 2006 Z4 M Coupe and I absolutely love it apart from the fuel economy difference. Hoping to get involved in some meets and looking forward to getting to grips with the Z4 world. Im based up in North Wales.

Hey everyone,

The interior is the caramel nappa and it came with sat nav, heated seats, upgraded bluetooth (when I figure out how to get my iphone connected that is), upgraded sound system and cruise control.

Been very impressed by the performance, handling and the sound is something else. Think I've spent a small fortune just driving around listening to it.
A real happy place having put up with the diesel for a year.

Thing's I'm not so fond of - gearbox often leaves me doing the worm down the road but I think thats more down to be driving it like a diesel. The dreadful sound of the stereo at low volumes but having played a bit of the latest depeche mode through it at silly volumes I'm fairly impressed.
It would seem they have time aligned and set it up to be played loud rather than quiet although one of the behind seat subs sound very flappy.

Hi and welcome, lovely pic of the car. Looking forward to seeing more of those with your great scenery.

Hello and Welcome!

I took a little while to get used to the clutch on mine, once you do it's brilliant. There is a thread on here where someone with some acoustic tools came up with the optimal DSP settings which I wrote down to do mine. They are:

80Hz +1
200Hz -5 (-9 too much)
500Hz -1
1kHz 0
2kHz +2
5kHz 0
12kHz +2 (+5 too much)

Have fun!

Welcome to the forum burnsy, lovely motor and a pretty rare interior

Hello & welcome  great choice of Zed, Enjoy :) I can't understand bmw gearboxes the manual in my old 5 series was a peach but the two manuals in my old Z4M & current E92 M3 are dogs you just eventually get used to their short falls :driving:

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the welcome messages. I'm unfortunately based in Sunny Rhyl and yes there are far too many roads to get myself into trouble up here and I'm a little scared to push the M as I had only just got used to the 123d's power. I'm hopefully moving to Haslingden which is closer to my work in Heywood.

The audio is something I will work on as I work in live audio which is a world away from car audio but I know what I like.

Things I want to sort on this so far are mostly from what I've read in posts on here and found to be troubling me too:

SHORT TERM
Short shift kit I believe (to help keep the car in its power band)
Better rear tyres when these run out.
Iphone interface
Painted callipers
Audio

LONG TERM
Replace broken/tired components with uprated performance parts
Suspension
Intake
Keep the car clean and tidy!!!

I shall try and get some interior pictures today, I recently sold my DSLR much to my dismay as I'm now left with the iPhone to take creative pictures with and it's certainly a challenge.
