Hello all!
I'm an Australian living in Japan.
Currently I drive a 1995 Toyota MR2 turbo.
I went and took a test drive in a 2003 E85 3.0i. It's white.

It has 96000km on the clock, which is fairly high for Japan. red leather package, navigation, cd changer etc.

When I drove the car today, I noticed there was a fair clunk when braking relatively hard, could this be the seat sliding forward, or some suspension components that are worn?
There was also very slight pulling to the left under hands free ( :driving: ) braking.
The airbag light was on the whole time I drove the car.
I've read through the buyer's guide and the possible fault guide, I was able to drive a fair bit, but the engine was hot when I got there, even though I went without appointment. The dealer is using it to go to and from work at the moment.

I've discussed all the little problems with the dealer and the price is very good. If I had a little bit of an idea what sort of issues cause clunking under hard braking and pulling to the left. I may be able to negotiate the repair before purchase.

I think I'd prefer a different colour though. Anyone want to put in some good points of the colour white?

Thanks all.
Here's a pic of the car at the dealer's.

The pulling to the left will be natural due to rfts- not sure about braking but check rear slings as this may be the clunk due to broken springs. The white is lovely and rare!

Mileage isn,t that high & i see no trouble with the white :? It would bring a premium in the uk
Clunk under braking could be worn front control arm,s ? My Zc when purchased on 90k had a similar noise over bumps or braking which turned out to be worn rubbers on control arm,s , if it is that then not expensive / £60 each

Thanks very much for the replies.
White is the average Japanese person's favourite colour!
Thanks for the advice on the clunking sounds, I'll definitely have to get him to check them in my presence if I go through with the purchase.

Thanks again!
