New to me

Hi guys, I pick up a new to me 35is on Wednesday, it’s grey with red leather with about 69k on it. Will I find it a huge disappointment performance wise? Willl it be a good motorway cruiser? I drive from Nottingham to Inverness regularly and hope I get much better mpg than high teens, cheers guys.

Depends what you are gauging it to performance wise, if you normally drive a Veyron it will be :D I think on a good run you can expect late twenties, early thirties mpg wise

Round town I’m getting about 22mpg but on a run with a couple of mad moments I got 32 so was pleasantly surprised with that. Performance wise not at all disappointed.

When i owned the car Stuart I found the cabin being more cruiser comfort than sportscar along with the general feeling of being in a coupe rather than a 2 seater roadster often dulled the senses into thinking the car may not be as quick as the BHP would suggest but in reality it hits the numbers mighty quick when poked  only really let it loose fully whilst in France last Autumn & at times had to reel it in from silly speeds
Re the OP & mpg i peaked around 36mpg on long haul mway journeys but 22mpg/24mpg will be the norm i suspect

Omg it is certainly no slouch when it comes to accelerating and as Andy says give it a poke and before you know it your in lose your licence territory without even realising it. I’ve had to ease off many a time

The car I’m coming from does 60 in first and 100 in second, 0-60 in about 3.8 but I only get about 16 to the gallon. The z sounds fast enough though. I think I will miss the deafening pops and bangs most but definitely looking forward to driving a civilised car that doesn’t want to kill me. Will be nice to be able to hold a conversation whilst driving 😂😜😂

I take it that’s not the 3.0 sdrive in your sig?

The twinny 89s are great package for the ££ outlay but can lack driver involvement if you enjoy the more sporty connection of driving .
If you want to mirror those above speed & acceleration numbers but double your mpg (& low ved) then try a TTRs out  with a remap they are ballistic quick for the weight

Least you will be able to go round corners now :poke:

I get about 30mpg-ish on a motorway run at sort of 80mph speeds with occasional foot down bursts of acceleration to overtake. Driving around generally at lights, roundabouts etc I get about 26mpg.

You’ll be massively disappointed from a Tuscan S! Sorry. The rawness of the NA straight 6 is just something else. I’m still yet to experience anything quite like the Tuscan and I still want a T350 so badly!

To be honest I’ve had a cerb 4.5, a Tamora and the Tuscan S and al thrilled me but they are hard work, they are a labour of love. I’m looking forward to an easier drive and less onerous maintenance schedule. I think il always hanker over the rush of a Tiv though.

Is the engine in the 35is the same as the one in the M135?
If it is I was talking to someone today who drove from Wolverhampton to Glasgow in an M135 and averaged 42mpg.
No idea what speed he was doing but had it on cruise.

M135 has a single turbo as opposed to twins on the 35i & most likely lighter car ( the 1er)
