New to me E89

Just changed my 2003 E85 2.2 for a 2010 e89 m sport.

Few little things needed doing - washer jet filters were clogged - easy 5 minute job. Bluetooth phone connects but the call quality via the mic is very poor - so need to investigate. Depending on the outcome I may look at some upgrade to include car play type thing

Oil warning light has came on - not low on oil but getting checked Monday - hopefully a simple fix

I took some spacers off my e85 - will need to see if they fit on the e89.

Pics of the old and new below

Nice 'upgrade'. Still think the E89 looks lovely in Alpine White. What engine is it?

Looks like it’s a 23i by the way it’s sitting on its wheels…

Yes it’s a 23i - only has 32k on so in good condition - only concern is what lack of use brings!!

I did think it looked low - but assume an m sport thing?

Check the battery age, date will be on top of one of the posts. If original I would replace ,as they don’t like a battery that on its last legs. While your at it change the salmon relays.

Those baby N52 engines go on forever..a new oil change n filter and new plugs and air filter (if it’s not had some recently) and you will go on forever… :driving:

I was joshing to paraphrase pondweed..

It is an MSport so will be about 10mm lower than a non MSport..

Going from an E85 to an E89 seems like a logical step in the Z4 family - enjoy.

Welcome to the 23i family!

Great reliable wee beastie is the 23i, mine use to through up low oil if parked nose down on steep gradients, put it back on the flat and restart it and it was fine again. As maxman said check the battery age and change the two roof relays in the boot (about £30).

Relays on order - seem the oil level sensor has a fault so just waiting for garage to agree cost with local garage for repair. Will need to look at battery age also as won’t be used to the cold Scottish mornings!!!
