Hi all

Just joined the forum as I've just purchased my first Z4- woo hoo!
https://flic.kr/p/2jjoGGC

I'm not new to BMW's having been totally into E30's for ten years (anyone from E30Zone I had the same name- hola chaps!) and I've decided to move onto the next BMW classic in the making. Well versed with working on and upgrading BMW's from the driveway.

So- I've gone after much research etc for an 04 2.2. The straight six was the clincher over a 2.0 and I have had 2.5/2.7 blocks before so thought I'd start small and build up.

I'll be reading up and probably asking for guidance fixing:

The hood not working- read this to death already!
Central locking not working from the key
Plug and play heated seats
ETC

Regardless I've been lurking on here for a while and it seems a good place so hi all, I'll try to be a good forum citizen and look forward to keeping another Z4 alive!

Cheers in advance

Stuart

Hi and welcome to the forum - bonus points for a photo in your first post too.

I've never had an E30, my BMW journey started 15 years ago with an E46.

A straight 6 is definitely the way to go. For me it's one of the Z4s unique features.

It's good to see another Z4 getting saved and brought back to its best.

Nice looking motor in best colour :)

Whats the deal with the blacked out roundel
Spent much of my younger days in Lincoln , well saxilby . Lovely part of the Uk

Hi and welcome.

I was also a member of the e30 zone, many moons back. My dad had threee e30’s and I was lucky enough to have a lovely 318iS with full MTech II kit. I should have never sold it.

Welcome to the forum. Hope your Z4 is up and running fully soon.

Welcome to the Z4 forum.
I to had various E30’s and was a member of the ‘Zone’ .
I thought that the E30 would never age, but once the Z3 Z4 range started I couldn’t resist them. I’m now on my 5th Z.

Morning all

There they are- the E30 deviants; I knew there would be some on here!

Nick, Wyldie they are good looking motors-

Thanks for the warm welcome- this place is already shaping up to be a great resource

Welcome Stuart, good luck with the Z.

Loved the E30's and have recently been looking again.

Back in the days I bought a 318is for my then very young girlfriend and it cost a mega amount to get her insured. The only photo I have is with my old 993 - why oh why did I sell those two... I also had a 525 xi as a daily driver at the time and that was rare even then.

Look at that 318IS- mini M3!

Good looking cars bud- even today

I now look at prices and kick myself for getting shot of all the cars I've had; I bought my first E30 as a £350 MOT fail...

Try find one now under £4k
