Hi to all,
Firstly, great forum.
Pick this beauty up in 2 days, its been too long away from a BMW 2 seater roadster for me.(I had a Z3 2.8, but sold it in 2004 and since have been driving a 330i.)
I do like silver Z4's, but the Z3 and the 330i were both silver, and i had the Z3 for 3 years before the 330, so have had silver cars for 8 years. So I thought it was time for a change.
For the last year of driving the 3 series and looking green in envy every time i passed a Z4, I dont recall seeing many Z4's in Bright Red (if any?) . Well i like red cars and i like Z4's, so ithought why not combine the two!!! And, Im happy with the result.
Having had a 2.8 Z3 and a 3.0 3 Series, i was looking for my Z4 to equal what ive had before thats all. Wasn't too fussed about extra power, but definitley didnt want it to have performance where it felt like i was downgrading.
Test drove the 2.5 a few times and i feel ive achieved that........the Z3 2.8 kicked out 190ish bhp the same as the 2.5 Z4 (with its 300cc less!!), So covered that base, the 330i 3.0 has 231 bhp but its nearly 300 kilo heavier than the Z3 & Z4, and that makes a diffrence. They all feel the same roughly. Even the book 0-60,
0-100 and top ends are the same.
Tested a few 3.0's, couldnt be sure if i could notice any difference (well significant difference). There obviously is though, as more horses are going to count in the same body shell. But as i said i wasnt looking for greater performance from what ive had anyway, just the same.
Therefore when i stumbled ascoss this baby......2005 2.5iSE (4 years old on March 1st 09).......54,000 miles...... £9990 .
I felt more than happy i was choosing the right engine for me, in the right colour for me, and i dont think anyone can argue....a good price for anyone.
Sorry for the long post, it is my first one!!! Future ones will be shorter, i promise!! Thanks for taking the time to read it, and look at my new car.
Bring on Friday!!!!........Back in the Roadster club!!!!............Cant Wait.
