NEW TIRES ON A 2003 Z4

Hi everyone! I'm changing the tires on my Z4 2003, I wanna know if I can put a 215/40/16 kumho ecsta tire set. I've read the specifications on the vehicle and says it has to be 225/50/16. I have OEM 16 inch wheels. Thanks in advance.

In short, you can run those tyre sizes, but it may have a detrimental effect to the handling.

You overall tire diameter will be 2 inches smaller which in effect will make your car 1 inch lower to the ground. Also the smaller size tire will introduce a 8.5% speedometer error. When you are driving 60 MPH your speedometer will indicate that you are going 54.9 MPH. As Adamski mentioned the ride will be effected and I would also expect the handling to be effected as NeilP mentioned,
