Interesting the read at the bottom that the new RS will be based on exactly the same engine but with 4 wheel drive and the extra power coming from a hybrid system!

I saw a white RS Focus last night parked up. Still catches my eye that car! Have the feeling I may own one at some point in the future!!

Could do with a few more photos of it from the side/rear etc. I'm a fan of Fast Fords, used to own an Mondeo ST200, but think the latest RS is a bit too boy racered. I'm probably getting old! The previous ST looked great but then once I started seeing dozens of them they loose their appeal. Would love to drive the new RS. This new ST its a shame it looses the Volvo 5-pot, they sounded fantastic ever since back in the 850's. My Dad's first T-5 is still one of the nicest sounding cars I've heard in my opinion. Going to be the way most cars go now though, smaller engines with forced induction or hybrid systems to boost the power. Hope they find a way of making them still sound good without it sounding like a old Nova and a cherry bomb.
Quite interesting in the article off the side too about the new Puma from last year. Would be fantastic to see but think the old one still looks better. New one just reminds me of the Astra Sport Hatch.

I want for to re-make the Capri in a modern style, the world needs a ford coupe
If they could make it with that volvo engine, 2-seats and rwd i would be hard pushed not to buy one.

Hopefully it will be nothing like this one

which looks basically what VW did to the golf and called it the sirocco, looks like ford are going to butcher the C30 and call it a Capri, missed oppertunity i think, sorry to thread hijack.

I've always loved hot hatches and I replaced my VX220 with an ST when they 1st came out. It was the most unreliable car I think I've ever owned, in the 12 months before I got rid of it it was in the dealers being repaired more than it was on the road. New gearbox, dodgy electrics etc etc. It wasn't the fact so much that it went wrong, it was the dealers and Ford's inability to deal with the issues effectively, they were truly awful and I will never cross the threshold of a Ford dealership again!
Despite that it was a great car to drive and that 5 pot engine was an absolute peach, it seems a shame they're ditching that, it's what made the car for me. ah well I guess they've got to be seen to be hugging pandas I guess :crazydude:

God I miss that 220 now I think about it!

The ST mondeo's were great cars.A couple of work colleagues had them and loved them. I went for a Vectra GSI 2.5 with 197 bhp,17" wheels,Recaro's, and a very well sorted suspension set up c/o Motorsports developments in Milton Keynes ( std). A bit crap by comparison these days but in 1998 it was the dogs!. I loved that, a real sleeper of a car.I forget the amount of people who'd try to pass me on the motorway thinking it was a bog std Vectra ( esp at night) until I floored it. I had so much fun in that car, 63,000 miles and the only thing to go wrong was a split oil cooler pipe. :D

Way cute and I think they know their market. Japanese cars had been kicking Ford's butt with their pocket rockets. Heck, I'd drive one in a minute. Small and fast puts a smile on my face. :driving:
