NEW STUBBY !!

Mine arrived today. I tried the Mangowalk, not keen on the look and the reception was non existent near home. Went to a fellow forum member.

So, when the new one arrived I thought I'd do a test to see how the reception compared - in the same area the Mangowalk didn't pick up anything! The BMW version isn't great, but not far off of the original. Not too sure on the look... definite improvement over the Mangowalk IMO.

Here's the test:

Yeah, I know half of it is gratuitous footage of my car

Disclaimer, for newbies and passers through... a lot of members use the Mangowalk and have no reception issues.

Great video PawnSacrifice, car looking great and looked like a lovely evening in Henley!

Thanks... rained all day, but evening was absolutely stunning, wish I'd taken the DSLR for some proper pics.

I get the feeling some of you might be getting ripped off :o

A few years a go I bought an aluminium 5" stubby from Bimmian in the US for my M3 (now transferred to the Z4MR) that does not affect radio/nav and cost £15 delivered.

I bought a shorter 3" rubber stubby for my Wife's Cooper S from my local Citroen dealer for a massive £4 - again no reception loss.

Why pay more?

Thought i would post a picture of the stubby from bmw?
Very impressed with signal.

thanks again for the infomation and part no.

Cant believe I've spent so much time looking at Stubby aerials.....what's wrong with me?! Note to self....in future start at the end of a thread and work backwards as nirvana seems to be BMW OE part no. 65202179726. Now, I've just got to get my head around £30 delivered although I did notice it comes in a nice BMW presentation box that looks a perfect fit to cover my satnav. Only kidding, as I really prefer to have the satnav.....but again what's wrong with me?

Finally, lucky I was only researching BMW stubby aerial's, as web search results could have been very different if I was looking for a Vanaerial!

I bought a Peugeot/Citroen one on Ebay for about £7 delivered!

It worked just fine and has the same M5 thread as BMW use.
