New staggered rims and wheel wobble?

Hi guys, just put a set of 125's on my car it's the first time I have had staggered wheels on my car also, they are the right tyre sizes too,

My steering wheel wobbles at 30-40mph quite scary actually, what could this be?
 
They have new weights on so seem to have been balanced although not sure when that was, the rear tyres are crap sunny and front are nankang. They don't vibrate just wobble, shall I get the
Balanced?
 
Ist thing to do is get rid of those sunnys i put a set on my old E46 330 to sell it and it was lethal to drive ,If you can get a new set of falkens and get them balanced properly.

Where the wheels second hand if so could be buckled maybe the reason for selling them.
 
I would also try and get them off the deck and spin them to see if the tyres have been fitted accurately and are not deformed. Its not at all unusual for balance issues to be caused by cheap badly formed tyres or poor fitting........ :(
 
Yep second hand, they don't seem to be buckled I checked all round, I'll try and get them balanced to see if that's the case, how much do I expect to pay for 4 wheels balanced, why were the Sunnys that bad mate?
 
Nankang on the front though slightly better than Sunny! I hope it's the balance I can't be done twice in a row with alloys.. :(
 
if it is the worst and theyre buckled then the should be repairable, especially if they look ok to the naked eye. I think ive got a slightly buckled wheel so ill be on the hunt for good value repairer myself!
 
It was like driving a diferent car, i think with tyres you get what you pay for . cheep........and nasty etc

four wheel balance = £20-25 ?

But I either use places I know and trust, or make a point of asking the fitter to do a careful job in view of the cars performance, which to be fair they will usually do if you are nice :) ..otherwise its the usual "bish bosh that'll do" shite.
 
Just lifted the front wheels off the floor gave them a spin, wheels don't seem buckled at least from the front anyhow and the backs look straight before I put them on.

Both tyres went down at some point, I.e there was a dip in the spin!! If both the tyres are going up and down slightly is this balance or that the tyres are crap and balance won't fix?
 
Steering wheel wobble indicates an issue with the front wheels/ tyres... most likely they need balancing... but another reason could be bald spots in the tyres... so the tyres become deformed, and shaped like a 50p.
 
Lots on here about mixing tyres across front and rear axles. For me a bit like wearing sandals on one foot and leather shoes on the other - they will have different grip characteristics etc and no doubt make you walk awkwardly. Sure it will pass an MOT etc but i.m.o on a decent car (and I think the Zed is....) then this will just detract from the potential performance and overall handling. Yes maybe the tyres just need balancing but for me gat a decent set of tyres.
 
I have just taken it to the garage, both wheels are 0-0 so perfectly balanced!! They said a slight bobble is nothing bad and the alloys arent dented!! I'm so confused. What is this wobble??
 
Wobble at the steering wheel only really has one cause: unbalanced wheels.

I know you say you've had the wheel balance checked and they're fine, so not sure what else I can suggest. I have heard of some places that balance the wheels with them in situ on the car (apparently a more accurate way to balance, but not idea how that's done and never had to do it with mine.

Personally my thoughts are pointing at the tyres, being a complete budget brand. But that's not always true as I had Nankang winter tyres on my van and they balanced perfectly (now on my summer Falkens though!).
 
If the wheels are balanced and round then it has to be flat spots on the front tyres.. check the thread on them all around.... sadly the only solution to this is new tyres.

I had pirelli's do this to me in the past.. so this doesnt only happen to cheapo tyres.
