The problem with speeding is that it seems a local authority can change a limit following a period of "consultation". They NEVER change it upwards and I've never met anyone who has been consulted. If that's how democracy works then they can hardly be surprised if people disobey them.
Not so the authority where we are has changed one up to 60mph from 50mph on a duel carriageway out of town
because everyone did it anyway and they switched of all the speed cameras in are area[North Somerset]as well, but it didnt stop me getting a ticket in Yorkshire :x
Lol, everyone can stop getting so upset now... I wasn't too worried about this... you just had to make sure you were overtaking a large lorry or something as you went past
I just love the statement "The device is NOT a speed camera, it is a speed measurement instrument... ". So, not a lot of difference, only need to add the recording part
Dunno about new ones. Got caught this morning by a mobile unit at 7.30 am. Doing 50 in a 40 but same as everyone else.
The sickener is that I know they are there at times but not THAT early.
B++t++ds indeed.
On the plus side 1st time in 6 years.
Welcome to Staffordshire - The capital of traffic enforcement!
Exactly the issue with these things, a human could hardly be bothered to stop someone doing that.
Not sure this helps or hurts, but it's not so bad everywhere.
There's an intersection just outside of my town where the limit is still 35 but soon increases to 55. Some numpty pulling a caravan recently pulled out in front of someone on the main road, causing a collision. It went to court, the caravan driver claiming it was the other's fault because he was speeding, estimated 50mph based on accident analysis. The other driver got the local police to testify in court that it was common for traffic to travel 50 at that section of road, despite the 35 limit! Court found caravan driver guilty. Gotta love reasonable police!
Speed cameras cannot fathom the word "reasonable", but you would think the person setting the threshold speed would. Money brubbing gastards!
