Wow - you're making you're own wiring loom, I'm impressed! I ended up buying a loom and switch pack and my Indy is going to attempt to fit it in a few weeks. Basically I swapped in heated electric M Sports seats but my car wasn't pre-wired for the heated seats. Finding a heated seat wiring loom for a facelift z4 was impossible, but thanks to a fellow forum member 'Fishy Dave' I have a retrofit loom for an X3, which looks like it will do the job.

I used to be an auto electrician many moons ago so I know how to knock a loom up.. I make those seats for a living. I'm a quality technician so I test the heaters etc so I know how they work to.. but it's getting round to it. It's on my list of a 1001 things to do

Any chance of a picture with the roof down so we can get a better look at the seats
I'll get a few pics withthe roof down when it's dry for you. They come with mood lighting in the headrest aparture.. these aren't fitted in mine though. Also footwell lights...

Lovely - really freshen up the look of the interior  . Workmanship looks top-notch, but you'd have to agree with that wouldn't you

They were free. I make them for a living. Weren't to bad to fit. There the same dimensions as the bmw seats. I had to make footplates to line up the mounting brackets.. I could have gone full electric but wiring would have been a pain..

Free! Do your bosses know?! :poke:

They do look really good, cracking job on the bracketing to make them fit.

You wouldn't believe what does get scrapped. Loads of leather covers for scars etc..

Interesting you should mention that. I was once told by a Porsche sales manager that the cows they use for leather are supplied by specially selected farms where the cows roam with no fences with nails/barbed wire etc so they don't get cuts/scars etc. I always thought it was a wind up and told him I didn't believe him, but he was adamant. I still thought its a wind up but may be not!

They rub lotion regularly into their hides to soften the leather too.

Saab used to boast that they used Swedish cattle for their leather due to exactly this - barbed wire is illegal in Sweden so they are unscarred.
