New run flats, now flat tyre warning light on

Hi guys,

I just replaced both my rear tyres for new Bridgestone run flats. On the way home after having them fitted, my flat tyre warning light came on after I got up to speed. I phoned them and was told that this is normal whenever you put new run flats on BMW's? They said if it keeps happening after a few days to get back in touch.

Just wondering if what I was told is accurate.

Thanks!

Cassie

Not sure, I know mine came on after hitting a nasty pothole, held it down and it went away, never to be seen again.

If it keeps coming on after being reset then get the tracking checked too.
Sorted mine out 12 months ago and lights still out!

I'm guessing they did not reset the TPS system.

+1, however it is quite easy to do, just read the relevant section in the manual. It is a good idea to do this every time you check and fill the tyres with air

Double check your pressures matey I didn't and just reset it only to find I'd driven nearly a hundred miles on a flatty and no I hadn't noticed lol

When the tyres are cold start the car and press the tyre button neat the roof button and hold for a few seconds. From memory the light will come on on the dash, you then need to drive the car a distance until the light goes out to reset.

I would alos suggest you check what pressures your tyres have. I had a BMW dealer change a tyre on my old car FOC and the put 50psi in. Luckily I checked it the same day.
