New ruby black coupe

Hi everyone

Well I've just purchased a new coupe after my last one was stolen , driven round the block and smashed into a tree !!!!

Amazed at the prices now, my first coupe was 30 k , I just got this one for 13k !!

It's a ruby black automatic, most options, black interior and new 108s from the dealer as the old ones looked very corroded, interestingly I had these replaced free of charge under warranty, the dealer asked me to pay for the car then claim and they would approve it. New tyres as well lol . The bill was over 3 grand eeeeek!!!

However a few questions if I may

1 - this one seems a lot quicker than my last , my initial thoughts were that because I've been driving a 118d for 6 months I had forgot how fast these cars are but it really does seem a lot faster. And it's doing 16 mpg average around town ( based on a full tank this week, admittedly driven enthusiastically from time to time, on urban roads, few motorway miles as I work from home) while my previous car did in the 20 s. Can't spot anything unusual under the bonnet so I presume it's been chipped???

2 - the cigarette lighter socket is broke, how do I get a new one and has anyone ever fitted one?? How easy etc ???

3 - I have a iPhone 4 and can't find a cradle for the Bluetooth kit in the centre compartment , anyone have any ideas on this

4 - it has a permaguard 5000 sticker in the door sill, last done in 2008, is it worth having it re done ???

5 - the sound generator foam had been removed so I was wondering if it was a previous forum members car , the numberplate is s700 *** and purchased from Newcastle

Cheers everyone, I'm having it detailed next week so I'll post pictures

Ok I promise pics tomorrow, I seem to be addicted to getting this car cleaned every few days so I'll put some up after I visit the big wash in the morning :P

Didnt think any chip/ remap would offer any noticeable gains...

A wash and good sealant would be as good as getting something like scotchgard reapplied.

I'd guess your mpg and speed feelings are due to the new ownership phase. Look back on this in a few weeks/months time and see how you're feeling then... :D
