New roof problem.

Apologies for the long post. On a very hot day a few weeks ago, my gaptec started to play up a bit. Thought nothing of it. A few days ago, I got in the car and when I started it, the windows lowered and the roof went down. Although the roof went back up with the button. So yesterday at the Falkirk breakfast meet, i started the car and it started to go down, then stopped with the button.
It then wouldn’t latch. So we latched it with the Allen key. On the way home, I stopped at a junction and the roof went down automatically and then no response from any button. No lights or any action at all. Has anyone any idea where to start with this. Motor is in the boot and perfect. I have a spare switch which I’ll change tomorrow, if it’s not that, I’m lost. Help!!!!

I'm sure I am correct in recalling a few posts the other year about gaptec problems. One was a module failure that I think was replaced the others (more than one) were poor connections from the unit I think due to scotch lock / snap locks.

I would disconnect the gaptec; assure yourself that the cables are not cut through then see if the roof works. If it does solder the gaptec back in to ensure good connectivity and if it don't work its the unit

It could be the gap tech, otherwise intermittent dead switches can indicate an issue with eh sensor loom in the canopy. The ECU doesn't know where the roof is, so it wont operate the relays.
