Not mine!

Free delivery though, that's generous.

I expect someone will buy them and up will go the value of the next lot.

He's has these for sale for ages. Keeps re-listing
Can't see him achieving that price TBH. I see that Skyer have manufactured a run of 30 and they are $257 about £198. That doesn't include postage from USA or import taxes. Could work out expensive.

They look good good but carriage and import tax could put another £60-£80 on to that. Still reckon my homemade £25 ones look cool.

Oh the joys of supply and demand.

So Skyer had a meeting at which some one suggested. World wide demand for these was probably <100 and with a couple of hours set up cost they could push them out for <$20 a pop and maybe sell them for 10x that and the boss said ye why not give it a punt, a mate of mine would quite like some.

Long live such companies.

Stupid money, even for these. I don't see the appeal myself of having to manually Install/remove everytime the roof is used

Side covers selling price it's about 200€/£200. If you're lucky enough they come up for about 100€ pretty often, but you have to dive in the forums and classifieds webs... I sold a couple of pairs in the last year and that's what I could get, both black and in mint condition, and other sales that I've seen here in the forum were pretty much at the same price, maximum £250 maybe...
The ones that are asking £300+ on eBay I think that have been there for more than an year now.

Oh I don't know. It's worth it for me when they cover the gaping holes when the roof's down. I only paid £160 for mine a few weeks ago. Dropped lucky I guess. Even £160 is expensive for what they are. They should have come as standard equipment when the car was new. :(

There's no doubting they look nice. But the problem for me and many others with the likes of Gaptech is it would render up/down on the move completely useless and turns a fully electric roof into one that isn't. On the plus side at least they don't seem to break if you put the roof up before removing, they just ping off. It would have you in tears if they broke at these sort of prices

What I don’t get with people saying they’re not worth a couple of hundred quid at minimum is people are happy to chuck that amount and much more into petrol for hoons etc, beer nights, whatever it may be. If you like them, can afford them, buy them, it’s 4 tanks of fuel. :)

Buy a 3D printer and printer them, much cheaper

Go right ahead Steve.....you’ll be doing better than anyone else on here that’s figured out it can’t be done realistically or without financial ruin....Age old topic mate, no ones done it yet and there are some very very clever folk on here. :)

Can't think of any consumer grade 3d printers that have a bed big enough to print them.

Loads of people have suggested this, if it was that cheap and that easy it would have been done!

I bought a pair to model and print from but it turns out that they are too large for home (i.e. cheaper) printers and the time and cost of modelling and producing commercially is unexpectedly high. The plastic catch mechanism is another technical hurdle as it needs to be resilient, but compliant enough to spring off if the roof is raised whilst the cover is in place. Plus a printed finish topside is not nice without some rubberised covering to match the interior like the original covers. All in all it's not possible to produce anything approaching OEM economically unless someone goes in to full-scale and hugely expensive injection moulding for large runs which would never sell.
IMHO the Skyer items look a bit nasty and have metal latches (apologies to Skyer who I know have followed threads on here).

Is there anybody who can produce the files and use a large printer willing to give it a go?

We just need someone to take some photos of both the covers, the 3D software will make it and stitch the pictures together.

Also, any Resin-based 3D printer will do the job, if it's a small 3D printer then print it out in two halves.

You could cover them with a Carbon wrap or leather and it will still cost less.

Yep many have 'talked the talk' with similar plans (including me) but nobody has delivered, as I said the size, finish and the catch are always the issues with printing.
