ok so i need 2 new tyres for the back of the Z, ive had the Pirelli P Zero 255/35 R18 Y (94) on for 6 months and they are almost illigal already!! now ive been looking at replacing them with some Falken Ziex ZE-914 - 255/35 R18 W (90) has anyone had any experiance with these? would i have any issues with just changing the back ones as the fronts are ok but cant really afford another 2 Pirelli P Zero 255/35 R18 Y (94) at the moment!

when i looked into tyres i went for the khumo escta sport Ku39 but im not convinced by them. nothing wrong with grip etc just dont think they protect the wheels that much.

i looked at the flaken 914 and the 453 and after a bit of searching i found the 914 were more for saloon cars not sports cars. they are similar compounds (or the same i cant remember) but designed for slighly different purposes. whilst both will be fine the 453 will perform better when pushed.

at the end of the day tyre choice is up to you but personally i would go for the outright sports over a saloon orientated tyre esp as you had the p zero before.

^^^ what he said. It is a sports car, get sports car tyres. 453s are the next gen after 452s (I know, state the obvious Bing...) which have been widely lauded on the forum

I got these from mytyres. They were brilliant

.

I've run 912's (the predecessor of the 914's) for many years on a range of different cars. They're the 'all weather' version of the 452 which are marketed more as summer only tyres.

Can't fault the 912's at all, especially for the price. I ran a sat on my modified civic Type R, and they coped without an issue. They won't be as good as the 452(3?) in the dry and hot... but will perform better when its colder and damp.
