Hi All

I have recently bought a 3.0 roadster and love it!

To maintain it i am looking at carrying out a major service... please can people confirm what oil they are using (assume 5w30) and also would people recommend changing the gearbox & diff oil for good measure? (again what are people using?)

One other little niggle....when im driving the car and brake heavy it sounds like liquid is swoshing around under the car, I assume this is just the fuel in the tank or has anyone else experienced it?

Thanks for your help

Mike

I use 5w30 in mine fully synthetic. Regarding gearbox diff, if it's got a good history and Good miles, with no leaks, id leave alone until ot does need doing. It's not going to hurt just going to cost extras £s. Sloshing no idea. I'd check there is no damp in car just incase it's water inside.
I hope not but worth looking.

Thanks Guys, appreciate your help

Going to take a look on Opie Oils and get it ordered

Thanks for the replies

In regards to the sloshing I’d be checking the drainage holes where the roof motor is. Remove rear wheels and take off the panel at the front side of the arch liner and you can get to the drainage holes that way.

Where are you? There are some meets planned so check that section in the forum, as you’ll get both the advice that’s good and probably more that’s bad for your wallet

Hi and welcome.

I too would check that you aren't carrying a couple of pints of water due to blocked drains. It's a crazy design and as these cars get older, many roof motors, which live where the water cannot escape, have been relocated to the boot. I had always intended to get mine done as a preventative measure, but put it off long enough that I had to get it done when the roof motor finally drowned!

I don't know which oil is best for the 3.0L, but I'd change everything you can. That way you know where you are.

Enjoy! :driving:

Thanks RickRob
Love the car so far!
I am going to take a look at the drain points this weekend.
Just ordered full service kit inc diff and gearbox oil
Cheers
